I have nothing against big business. What I do have is a dislike for corruption and liars. Especially when international companies think that because they bought our land they can also buy or hearts and minds along with our politicians. That maybe business as usual in Denmark...but that's not how we play here. -

Foolish & short-sighted. Jeff County is perfectly positioned as an exurb to Loudoun County (30-yr projected housing shortage) & Winchester - particulary w/ metro. Who'd want to move to Jeff County w/ this Toxic Bomb Jeff County's lobbing in? Cost/Benefit?REPORT COMMENTS

next to an elementary school, knowing 93 tons of coal will be burned daily and a range of toxic chemicals will be released into the air via two smokestacks. but because the calculations and the event of an inversion in wind patterns would cause all that deadly emission to settle and accumulate right where the school kids are every day. that is criminal. and i fight criminals.the world health organization says no school should be built near a toxic factory, but the WHO never dreamed a company would heartlessly and soullessly do the reverse and not face a rule against it.REPORT COMMENTS

Per Encyclopedia Brittanica: "Chemical weapons are chemical agents, whether gaseous, liquid, or solid, that are employed because of their direct toxic effects on humans, animals, and plants." If they know that they are discharging these harmful chemicals and they pose known (and documented) Health Hazard(s), per the EPA 'Hazardous Air Pollutants', wouldn't that imply intent or knowledge of wrongdoing? How is this different?? Just curious...?REPORT COMMENTS

Having just moved to the area to raise our family I’m opposed to having our daughters grow with toxic fumes around them. Specially in such a beautiful place that would be destroyed for profit gainREPORT COMMENTS

I grew up on WV, including adolescent years in Jefferson county. Jefferson county is considered the likely location where John Denver wrote Country Roads - a song that still brings tears when I think about the beauty of WV. I have recently moved from near DC to Loudoun Co, VA to get closer to "home". It would be a shame and a crime against nature and humanity to destroy the beauty of WV and VA in this part of the US. Please take the pollution somewhere it can be properly managed rather than spread over so much greatness.REPORT COMMENTS
