As a life long Republican, I’ve now lost faith in the local government doing what’s right for the community. Our elected public officials have abused the public trust by letting a company like Rockwool recklessly move into our growing community with the intent of poisoning our land, our water and the very air we breathe with metric tons of toxic, known cancer causing carcinogens every year. I don’t know how the Rockwool agenda has made it this far, since supporting Rockwool requires the total disregard of the health of Jefferson country residents and more specifically the health of children attending 4 schools danger close to the plant everyday. (Has anyone considered what Jefferson County would go through if there was a Rockwool industrial accident in the middle of a highly populated area with school aged children nearby?) Looking beyond the cancer risk, if it’s possible, property values will significantly decrease for all properties anywhere near the plant and for our county across the board as residents move out of Jefferson county to get away from the pollution. Local businesses will suffer as they lose customers to community flight and stagnant county growth while coping with decreasing property values. The economic cost of a Rockwool plant will be devastating to Jefferson County.REPORT COMMENTS

We must stop Rockwool from polluting our air with known carcinogens. We deserve to breathe clean air, especially our children. It is unacceptable and negligent to locate this facility right beside schools and homes. Not mention the manner in which this project has flown under the radar of most citizens, with Rickwool doing the bare minimum. This speaks volumes of how they will conduct future business in our county and we do not want any part of it. have a 3 year old son and I will not stay here if Rockwool moves in, I would never risk my child’s health. We moved here and built our dream house, we love it here and would be devastated to have to leave what we thought would be our forever home. We love being outside and enjoy biking, hiking, fishing, swimming, etc. Please let us continue to live here, we love it here! We implore you stop this now and do the right thing...REPORT COMMENTS

Why don’t we try to invest wisely in our community and our small businesses, along with technology and data start ups versus the low hanging fruit of toxic BS and factories. Better yet, Why don’t you try to recruit some businesses but actually support livable wages and sustainability and both our environment and our economy. This isn’t rocket science. Why don’t you try to recruit some businesses that actually support livable wages and sustainability in both our environment and our economy. This isn’t rocket science. Loudoun County is less than 26 miles away and controls nearly 80% of our country’s Internet traffic, and is in line for a joint proposal for Amazon HQ2 and Fairfax County is in line for another Facebook headquarters in Tysons. It is ridiculous that we can’t do more to recruit sustainable and long-term business solutions that don’t dump their garbage in our backyards. Better yet, if we don’t want to deviate from our agricultural roots why don’t you pull your old school heads out of our asses and look at agri-tourism as a viable solution to record recruit to our beautiful, natural resources. This is a sellout and lazy deal that puts generational lives on the lines. You should be ashamed.REPORT COMMENTS
