This is the most irresponsible, careless decision against the people of Jefferson county I can think of. I will vote everyone out of office that had anything to do with this awful decision. This is politics at it's finest. Shame on all of you!Aug 2nd, 2018Sonya S. from Martinsburg, WV signed.

I’m a MD transplant but I love it here in WV, it had become my home and I’m proud of that. Jefferson county and the panhandle as a whole doesn’t need 150 manufacturing jobs at the cost of our health and the destruction of this beautiful place. There may be other places where the positive effects of the additional jobs outweigh the negatives of rockwool, but that is not the panhandle. Tourism is one of our main industries and this is a very historical part of the country, we should preserve that not destroy it. People from MD are moving here in droves because of the location and lower cost of living and it’s helping the panhandle...bringing rockwool will put an end to that and housing prices will surely plummet. Let’s not ruin this place I have come to love!REPORT COMMENTS

As a WV native, I fully understand the need for more, higher paying jobs. However, there is no job, or number of jobs, that take priority over health. If this plant is built, there will likely be a large number of families that are forced to move, leaving behind yet another “ghost town.” Alternatively, they will be forced to expose their children and families to pollution. Not to mention the “eye sore” of a massive plant down the street. Home value will decrease, thus perpetuating a growing problem in parts of WV. Keep our state wild and wonderful. Almost heaven...REPORT COMMENTS

I have lived in Jefferson County all of my life. I have memories that a majority of our leaders never even witnessed due to them being implants. My family history in this county goes back over 200 years. I have also raised 3 children in Jefferson County, and my 6th grandchild is on the way, all being raised in Jefferson County. I'm not only concerned about the health risks involved from chimney stacks, I'm also concerned about all the diesel and vehicle emissions from some many tractor trailers. I'm concerned about our soil and crops getting contaminated as Jefferson County ranks number 1 in the state in many agricultural arenas. Almost half of this county is still farmland. What dummy(ies) didn't realize these toxic fumes will settle down over the neighboring schools, residential properties, farms, etc before it will expand and dissipate? Whose pockets got padded with this deal? 10 years of tax breaks? Really? Kill plans for Rockwool, not our citizens!!REPORT COMMENTS
