Rockwool is Wrong for Jefferson County

WHEREAS Rockwool will be one of the largest toxic polluters in West Virginia

INCLUDING cancer-causing chemicals, heavy metals, hazardous particulate matter, and ozone precursors;

WHEREAS Rockwool is located within 10,000 feet of four schools, with 30% of Jefferson County's student population;

WE THE PEOPLE strongly urge the Jefferson County Commission and Board of Education to each pass a resolution disapproving of Rockwool's location in the heart of Jefferson County.

Just because something is adhering to EPA standards doesn't make it safe to learn, live, and work in the proximity of the beast. Per their own advertisement (that they so thoughtfully placed in a low circulation newspaper the day before Thanksgiving) the sheer amount of what they'll be pumping out is astronomical.

Our streets have no lights or sidewalks. We can gaze at the stars at night without light pollution, until Rockwool comes in with air and light pollution. I did not move here for that.
